With a focus on speed, the new rim profiles yield a substantial reduction in weight while maintaining the aerodynamic shape of the rim and its race-tested advantages (less subject to crosswinds and enhanced precise steering). A 16 spoke front wheel with an oversized 15mm aluminum axle helps counter the flex that occurs in contemporary carbon fork designs. The 20 spoke rear wheel, centered on a lighter weight titanium freehub body creates the delicate balance - so crucial to acceleration and speed - between light weight and rigidity. The WH-7900 series make use of the most advanced rim designs and materials; super-light carbon fiber composites.
Shimano quality proven angular contact bearings and oversize A7075 alloy axles. Digital cone-bearing adjustment for better rotation performance. The result is a striking clincher wheel set that combines a lightweight design with an exceptional rigidity.
