The Getaway is the ideal gravel all-rounder for all riders who don't want to forego comfort in addition to high performance and durability. The tire comes with a subtle but non-slip tread pattern, strong shoulder lugs and, thanks to its large volume, plenty of grip and comfort.
Pro Handmade Clincher with Superpoly carcass
Handmade tires combine a variety of outstanding properties to offer the highest level of comfort and the lowest rolling resistance. Carefully selected materials are used in the different tire levels depending on the use and performance requirements. Soft, supple carcasses quickly adapt to the shape of the ground when rolling and cornering. This increases ground contact and grip and improves shock absorption on poor roads. Soft, natural rubber treads are combined with lightweight, flexible puncture protection.
Polyester is the cheapest of all handmade carcasses. It is a synthetic fabric that is very strong and waterproof, offering significantly more flexibility and durability than comparable nylon materials. Challenge uses high quality polyester or SuperPoly (higher TPI number polyester) to produce cost-effective pro-level tires.
Handmade natural rubber - degree of hardness SMARTplus
Challenge's handcrafted natural rubber treads are compounded to provide the perfect level of durability without sacrificing performance, comfort and control. Challenge tires wear out 10-20% faster than the competition, but offer significantly improved performance and a noticeably better ride throughout their lifetime. Depending on the requirements, the tires are equipped with rubber compounds of different softness.
The SMARTplus compound is a slightly harder natural rubber compound specially designed for high mileage. The formulation effectively reduces wear and makes the tire even more resistant and durable.
