The magped SPORT 2 is an innovative and patented magnetic safety pedal in a revised and improved version. The new version is CNC-milled from an aluminum block and is 54 g lighter than the first magped SPORT.
It is the universal magped for beginners and is equipped with magnets on one side. The safety pedal is the pedal innovation for mountain bikes and e-bikes. By using the patented magnetic mechanism, the foot can be released from the pedal safely, quickly and easily at any time. The risk of falling and injury is reduced to an absolute minimum compared to pedals with a fixed connection (e.g. clipless pedal system) - and the head remains free for carefree riding pleasure.
Round step: The magped pedal enables a round step, as both the extensors (70%) and the flexors (30%) of the leg muscles are evenly stressed. This makes even longer bike rides a pleasure.
Traction force: Depending on the selected magnet strength, the shoe is held magnetically to the pedal with a traction force of up to 15 kg. The traction is mainly vertical and it is possible to release the pedal sideways with almost no noticeable resistance. But it is also no problem to release it quickly and easily in critical situations directly upwards.
Weight: The magped pedal is a modern and high-quality flat pedal made of light aluminum and a CrMo spindle. Despite the additional magnet system, all magped pedals are no heavier than comparable high-end pedals.
Position: The pedal allows the shoe to rotate slightly, thus protecting the joints when pedaling. The position can also be varied forwards and backwards without changing the traction force, so that the ideal position for ascent and descent can be easily found.
Shoe plate: The shoe plate made of special stainless steel can be mounted on any SPD-compatible cycling shoe in just a few minutes with 2 screws. Unlike other systems, dirt is not a problem for the magped. In addition, the risk of tripping when walking is reduced and walking comfort is significantly increased.
Technology: The magped pedal is equipped with 3 high-quality, sealed industrial ball bearings. The pins of the pedal can be replaced if necessary. The height of the neodymium high-performance magnet can be adjusted using a special integrated polymer suspension.
