Product information "Syntace NumberNine² Titan black CNC finish #Varinfo"
Actually it should be twice as expensive. No cost and effort, our guiding principle was to build the most stable, lightest flat pedal with the least possible loss of performance. The original 2009 NumberNine pedal with its finely adjustable conical bearings, as well as its successor, the NumberNine Custom, which is stored in four industrial bearings, can be easily and reliably used in everyday use without a single pedal break. A high benchmark for the new, extremely lightweight, Syntace NumberNine Titanium, which should offer almost 30% reduced weight with even better stability. After many prototypes and finally a new, even sharper, own test bench for pedal axles, axle bearings, pedals and even the pedalpins is now so far:
No cost and effort to spare. This was our guiding principle to build the most stable and lightest flat pedal with the lowest possible loss of performance.
100% ball bearing, otherwise nothing.
Consistently applied physics: Rolling bearings have significantly lower friction losses than plain bearings just under load. Especially when the mostly open sliding bearings have the typical dirt entry. That is why we use only very high-strength precision ball bearings at all three bearing positions of the NumberNine pedal. This means for you as a driver: you get pedals with the least possible loss of performance. The harder you step, the greater the performance advantage.
If you build stably, you can build easily.
The Syntace monoblock pedal body is milled from a piece of air-certified 7075-T6 aluminum, instead of the usual extrusion profiles made from soft 6061 alloys or even magnesium alloys, which are very happy to break or bend when they come into contact with the ridges. All Tragarme and Superstep of the Syntace NumberNine² Titanium are designed exclusively as statically determined support profiles, without any slotting, perforation or similar fashionable attributes. This makes the NumberNine² Titanium virtually indestructible in hard, rocky terrain. A hollow-bored, high-strength titanium axle tested according to a clearly sharpened, own test standard for pedal axles, the NumberNine² flat pedal reliably holds over 500 kg of breaking load per pedal! To this day without a single pedal break. In the event of lateral impacts, the Syntace NumberNine² Titanium pedal receives axial force via a special robust end stop instead of the ball bearings. This means that the ball bearings are not subjected to radial loads from outside by hard shocks.
Sensational 285 g (size M incl. 44 pins and grease filling). The 44 pins, placed on the tread, sit on a special, slightly concave height arrangement: the middle pins of the NumberNine² Titan are a bit lower, the outer eight pins sit on elevated and completely traversed bars without any recesses.
Steel / Alu-Mapping
The delivery of the NumberNine Titan includes a full set of 44 Alupins 7075 T6 (including a spare pin) as well as a screwdriver with a modified head for the easy, fizel-free insertion of the pins. This not only allows you to easily change the number of your Alupins, but also to exchange them with steel pins in particularly exposed areas. The Syntace steel pins are the same as the aluminum spare pins in the 10-pack at your Syntace dealer.

Each driver his pedal size
The Syntace NumberNine² is the first pedal that is not available in one standard size but in three proportionally adjusted sizes. Because, of course, the pedal size does not have to fit a standard person, but as well as possible. For the rough pedal size orientation
Shoe size: Pedal size:
35 - 42 S
43 - 50 L
In addition to the shoe size, the choice of the optimum pedal for you will depend strongly on the actual sole width of the shoe model, the preferred foot position and the intended use.
No loophole for water and dirt
Except for the actual axle output, the Syntace NumberNine² titanium pedal is completely sealed. With the Syntace NumberNine² pedal, the only necessary sealing package is located inside the axle thread, easily recognizable by the large radial shaft seal. Due to the further inward pulled pedals body housing it is well protected by the directly preceding crank arm.
The built-in, dirt-proof Syntace Grease Port and the further developed, one-sided open bearing construction make the NumberNineTitan² pedal easy to smear from the outside in seconds. In order to achieve a multiple extended bearing life, compared to conventionally lubricated ball bearings.
Always beautifully horizontally
The Syntace bearing system brakes the pedal light weight without load just enough to hold it in its position when the foot is lifted, and when the foot is repositioned, is immediately ready in the appropriate position. The small "helper" does not have any noticeable or measurable disadvantages in normal pedaling because it is exactly not in the actual power transmission.
