At e*thirteen, we're always striving to bring something new to the table. That's why we created the Helix line of cassettes - to offer unparalleled cross-compatibility without sacrificing performance.
With e-bikes becoming more popular, we set out to design a close-ratio cassette specifically for them. That's where the Helix Race 13-52T comes in - a new 12-speed, close-ratio cassette specifically designed for steep terrain where the rate of climb is high and descents are gravity-driven.
Combined with a 32T chainring and 85rpm cadence, the 13T system can reach speeds of or just over 32kph/20mph, which is just above the speed-limited assist of most e-bikes. The new lowest 52T gear and narrower steps help riders conquer the most technical climbs with new ease.
While the Helix R 13-52T is specifically designed for e-bikes, it also improves the riding experience for non-e-bike riders, allowing them to optimize their cadence on steep climbs and let gravity do the work on descents .
Like all e*thirteen Helix cassettes, the Helix Race 13/52t offers seamless cross-compatibility with SRAM, Shimano and TRP 12s drivetrains, as well as improved shifting precision and wear life. Weighing in at 467g, the gears are reinforced for high-performance e-bikes, yet light enough for weight-optimized trail bikes.
